I am so happy with our progress reports that just went out. What I am noticing is students taking charge of their work, becoming more independent. We are having a great start to the spring.
Have a wonderful weekend.

The week of March 9-13,2015 there will be no homework during PARCC testing. Homework will resume the week of March 16, 2015. Any questions let me know. Mrs. LaFaye The safest place for your child's cellphone is in a locked locker. This is also the school rules. If you need to get a hold of your child during the day, please call the office or many of you have my cellphone number. I always make sure I check my phone at lunch and before the end of the day. Please remember the following are due every Friday: 1. Practice Companion pages 2. Theme Question Paragraph (written on Padlets) 3. Math pages (we are looking into getting a workbook- stay tuned). March is due: Friday, February 27, 2015 Thank you to my wonderful families and your kind gifts and generosity. I truly appreciate your children everyday. Have a peaceful holiday and see you all in 2015. If you need anything, please do not hesitate to email or text. Thank you Mrs. LaFaye PS that is my coveted stapler- OMG!!! Ask and you shall receive... I sent home three reading and reading response packets. These practice a variety of literacy standards. I also copied two math packets for math fluency practice. Students wanted more of their homework online... So I put new assignments on: ThinkCerca Study Island Connect ED (reading SRA) *For students to receive credit for using ThinkCerca, StudyIsland and ConnectEd, students must complete their assignments. All assignments are reinforcement of the standards we have been working on. **Khan Academy and IXL are student directed. Topics on IXL to work on: Division Multiplying and Dividing by decimals Finding Volume Converting units of length and capacity: customary units and metric system. To get credit for using Khan Academy and IXL, students must log in for at least 20 minutes EACH session. It is easy for me to see this as each program generates weekly reports to me. Any questions? I gave all students in my reading and math group ALL their passwords. Most are written in their planner. You can also email me to double check your child's usernames and passwords. Have a wonderful weekend! |
